Senior AI & Data Engineer – SAP Financial Services (m/f/d)

This role shapes the data backbone of modern financial services, combining SAP platform engineering with data products that power analytics, risk, regulatory reporting, and AI-driven use cases. The focus is on building scalable, high-performance data architectures that turn complex banking requirements into reliable and future-ready solutions.

You will join a team of around 10 based in Greece, working mainly remotely.

• Architect & Design: You design end-to-end SAP architectures for financial services, translating complex banking, risk, and finance requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
  
• Integrate & Build: Integrate SAP and non-SAP systems using APIs, OData, CDS views. Create and enhance data models, design ETL processes, and integrate SAP and non-SAP solutions using SAP Integration tools such as SAP BW4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP BTP and BDC.
  
• Innovate: You guide clients within SAP AI world implementing AI Core and Joule agents to optimize their processes.
  
• Driving Delivery & Collaboration: Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, shape solutions in workshops, share best practices & support knowledge transfer.
  
• Support Testing & Go-Live: Contribute to testing activities, migration cycles, and go-live phases including test design, execution, documentation, and cutover.
  
• Operate & Optimize: Ensure scalability and reliability of large financial data sets through performance tuning, data flow optimization, and architectural improvements.

• Experience: 4+ years in SAP data integration/data management and analytics with hands-on experience with at least 1 of the following tools: SAP BTP Integration Suite, Datasphere, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP BW on HANA, SAP HANA native modeling
• Technical Depth: Profound expertise in at least three of the following areas:
  • CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
    
  • RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
    
  • SAP Fiori / UI5
    
  • SAP Build (Apps, Process Automation, Work Zone)
    
  • API Management, Event Mesh
    
  • SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Joule, Process Automation
  • BTP platform administration and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Cloud Foundry, Kyma)

• Industry Knowledge: Experience in Financial services & Accounting principles
• Qualification: Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, finance, economics, banking, mathematics, or a comparable field
  
• Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken. German is a plus
  
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and stakeholder management experience in cross-functional teams
  
• Working Style: Structured, independent, and delivery-oriented approach in workshop-driven environments

Nice to have

• Certification: SAP certifications in BTP, BW, or HANA are a plus
• Finance Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles
• SAP Finance Exposure: Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance
• Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of financial services Subledger or General Ledger data models & requirements
• Methods: Familiarity with Agile methodologies or SAP Activate
• Data Governance Exposure to data governance frameworks and metadata management tools
