Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS/Azure) (m/f/d)

Cloud Operations are at the heart of your role: you operate managed service environments, keep an eye on KPIs and costs, and serve as the technical point of contact whenever it matters – across platforms, primarily on AWS and Azure.

In addition, you contribute to transition projects, deliver our proprietary solutions to customers, and independently lead smaller cloud projects.

• Operate: Take responsibility for the stable, secure, and high-performing operation of managed cloud platforms, including monitoring, alerting, logging, patching, updates, incident handling, and continuous optimization of performance and cloud costs in line with FinOps principles.
• Secure: Security is at the core of your work. With your expertise, you harden networks, IAM structures, and security baselines, manage vulnerability and patch management activities, respond to security incidents, and ensure compliance remains transparent and auditable.
• Automate: Using your Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform), you build and maintain cloud infrastructure, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and reduce manual effort through automation – including Security by Default and Policy as Code.
• Transition: Support transition projects by deploying our proprietary solutions, building landing zones, and transferring customer environments into managed services in a structured and repeatable way.
• Drive: Take ownership of smaller cloud projects, guiding them from technical design through to successful implementation.

• Operations: Solid hands-on experience operating cloud platforms in a managed services environment, including monitoring, incident, change, and patch management.
• Cloud Security: Strong understanding of IAM, network security, encryption, and security baselines. Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, BSI C5) is an advantage.
• Hyperscaler: Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ideally with a strong focus on AWS (Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM).
• Infrastructure as Code: Confident use of Terraform, combined with experience in CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and ideally scripting with Python or Bash.
• Cloud Migration & Transition: Experience with cloud migrations, transition projects, or building landing zones, combined with the ability to independently manage smaller technical projects.
• Availability & Mobility: Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule and openness to customer workshops or occasional on-site assignments.
• Languages: Fluent English (C1 level) is required; German skills are a plus.
