Lead Java Engineer (m/f/d)

You combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering expertise. Together with your team, you build scalable Java solutions, guide projects from concept to delivery, and act as a trusted advisor for customers. At the same time, you help shape engineering standards, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the continued growth of the team.

• Lead: You set the technical direction, guide development teams, and foster an engineering culture built on trust, ownership, and excellence.
• Advise: As a trusted partner for customers, you translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions and build long-term relationships.
• Deliver: You take ownership of projects from concept to delivery, balancing technical quality, business goals, and successful outcomes.
  
• Design: Together with your team, you design and build scalable, enterprise-grade Java applications and shape architecture decisions for complex environments.
  
• Mentor: You support engineers in their professional growth, share knowledge, and help establish modern engineering standards, best practices, and efficient ways of working.
  
• Solve: Complex technical and organizational challenges are yours to tackle. You identify risks, develop pragmatic solutions, and continuously improve systems, processes, and team performance.

• Leadership Experience: Several years of experience leading engineering teams, driving customer-facing projects, and taking responsibility for both technical and organizational outcomes.
• Java Expertise: More than 8 years of professional experience in Java software development, with deep knowledge of Java 17+, modern backend development, and enterprise-grade applications.
• Architecture & Engineering: Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, microservices, engineering best practices, clean code, testing strategies, and scalable solution design.
• Technology Stack: Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• AI & Innovation: Practical experience with AI-powered development tools and a solid understanding of machine learning principles.
• Communication: Ability to communicate confidently with customers, stakeholders, management, and technical teams in both strategic and delivery-focused discussions.
• Mindset: A proactive, self-disciplined, and ownership-driven approach combined with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Language Skills: Fluent German is a major advantage, but not a strict requirement. Candidates willing to achieve German fluency with our support are highly encouraged to apply. We offer strong language learning support to help you reach that goal. English is mandatory for this role.
