Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) in SAP Financial Services

Data integration for FPSL is at the heart of your role. You ensure financial and banking data flows smoothly across SAP systems, turning complex requirements into practical, scalable solutions. You optimize large datasets, build effective reporting, and support workshops, testing, and go-live activities to make finance transformation projects successful and tangible.

You will join a team of around 10 based in Greece, working mainly remotely.

• Design: Design and implement SAP-based data architectures tailored to banking requirements
• Develop: Build data models using SAP BW/4HANA, BW on HANA, SAP HANA Native, and SAP Datasphere/Integration Suite
• Configure: Set up SAP BW, SAP HANA, or BTP services for analytics, warehousing, and data processing
• Build: Develop ETL/ELT solutions using SAP Data Management tools
• Optimize: Improve performance for large-scale financial and transactional datasets
• Translate: Convert banking-specific requirements (risk, finance, regulatory, profitability reporting) into technical solutions
• Integrate: Connect SAP and third-party solutions via APIs, OData, and CDS views
• Report: Design and implement reporting solutions using SAC and Fiori
• Collaborate: Participate in workshops with business and IT teams to gather requirements and define roadmaps
• Guide: Provide best practice advice on SAP data management for banking clients
• Support: Contribute to project planning, documentation, knowledge transfer, and testing (unit, integration, UAT)
• Execute: Support cutover planning, migration cycles, and go-live activities; create and document testing scenarios and results

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Banking, Mathematics, or equivalent
• Experience: 4+ years in SAP data management, analytics, or data warehousing (+/- 6 months)
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with SAP BW/BW4HANA, SAP HANA (native modeling), SAP BTP (Datasphere, Integration Suite), SQL, ABAP
• Data Modeling: Experience in data modeling, ETL development, and reporting solutions
• Sector Knowledge: Experience with banking, capital markets, or insurance clients
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements (Basel, IFRS, liquidity risk, credit risk)
• Integration: Knowledge of connecting SAP systems with external platforms and cloud solutions
• Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Teamwork: Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  

Nice-to-Have

• SAP certifications in BW, HANA, or BTP
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance or Central Finance
• Knowledge of financial services subledger data models
• Familiarity with Agile or SAP Activate methodologies
• Exposure to data governance frameworks and metadata management tools
